Krista Pino

Gitano's Quest

This project is based on a six-scene story involving characters of different ethnicities interpreted through dance. The community relations focusing on this project will occur through a workshop with school-aged youth between nine and thirteen years of age who will develop scenes from the story through improvisational theater and art. Participants from the community will then be invited to watch the entire production performed by students from the UNM Theater and Dance Department.

Krista Pino was raised in Santa Fe.  She began workingon a double major in Dance with a flamenco emphasisand Spanish at the UNM.  During her studies, she hasalso taken an interest in script writing.  Combing herpassion of storytelling and dance, she created"Gitano's Quest." "Gitano's Quest" is a six-scene fable performed through multiple dance forms and improvisation.
