Elizabeth Battarbee is a native Louisianan who moved to New Mexico in August 2000 to enjoy its cultural diversity, exquisite scenery, and educational opportunities. Elizabeth is perpetually motivated by her fascination with the human form. She has a lifetime of experience with movement that includes athletics, martial arts, dance, and yoga. She has a vision of using dance/creative movement to promote health and creativity, relieve stress, and facilitate an increase in kinesthetic, as well as inter- and intra personal awareness.
Elizabeth hopes to use her award to empower the participants in her movement classes, make connections in the Albuquerque community, and facilitate community engagement.
